Introducing the New Improved TON3X

August 12, 2008 · Print This Article

I was on hold waiting to interview TON3X for twenty minutes. Twenty whole minutes. Twenty day time minutes have now entered the oblivion never to return again. I had already had to go through a string of people to get to TON3X (He assured me, though, that it’s much harder to get in touch with Missy Elliot. I will have to take his word for it). I didn’t see how it was necessary to then wait twenty minutes when I had an appointment for five pm Pacific Standard Time. But I waited anyway like a dutiful editor-in-chief waits for her monthly featured artist whose time is surely more precious than her own even when she has a deadline to meet in less than twenty-four hours. But I digress. Finally his manager’s voice appeared back on the line.

“Hello Mandice, I have Mr. Williams on the line”.

Who is that?

“Ok great. Hello Mr. Williams,” (who I assumed after a split second of confusion was TON3X). “Are you ready to get started?”

He laughed. “No, the question is are you ready?”

I assured him that I was. I wasn’t ready.

Talking to TON3X is like talking to an activist rock-star theologian that aced English. Imagine Prince became a Black Panther and went to seminary. His articulation is perfect. His vocabulary is staggering. His swag is apparent. In a word: TON3X is intense. But he talks to you like you were his homie from way back. From the outset we began talking about his family. He comes from a line of Apostolics, all of them talented musicians. His father played with the Godfather of Soul. “[It's genetics]. The deoxyribonucleic acid within me had to procreate this type of musical display. It was inevitable,” says TON3X. No, really. That’s exactly what he said. I hadn’t heard that word said out loud since Mr. Anderson made us learn how to spell it in 8th grade science. It’s apart of TON3X’s everyday vernacular. Even in a strict Apostolic household TON3X was exposed to a wide Diaspora of musical sounds; a fact which he says contributes to his own eclectic sound. “…I got exposed to Prince and Rick James and Parliament.” He laughs. “Upstairs was all the gospel stuff and in the basement [where my brother had his studio] is where I got exposed to the real sh*t, and it was like uh-oh.Uh-oh is right. What did he just say?

But you can’t expect anything less from a guy who prides himself on being the realest in the game, and who has proved a million times over that he’s not afraid to push the envelope and simultaneously shatter people’s preconceived notions and the conventions of gospel music. You couldn’t even classify TON3X as a gospel artist, he wouldn’t want you to. He’s created his own genre that he calls Gos-Pop, an infusion of popular music with the gospel message. “The way that I present gospel music is so different from the average way…I had to create my own genre. I created my own industry. That’s what I’m in the process of doing. I’m just one of the realer cats in that process. I don’t fake. It is what it is. And it may have sin, and it may be like ‘well, he needs to come up in that area’. Yeah I probably do. But you have an area you need to come up in too. But it’s real; it’s telling the truth and the truth will always win.

But not before it gets you in a lot of trouble. Like it did when TON3X (then Tonex-same pronunciation but different spelling) released “The Naked Truth” on MySpace in June of 2007. The track was ominous, the lyrics were angry and forceful… there was profanity. It was a metaphorical diss track bred from years of slander and frustration. Now TON3X had always been edgy, but no one was quite ready for that. “That song took on a life of its own,” TON3X explained. “I really [put it up on MySpace] only for a couple of days just to vent and it got so many plays the first day… I just left it up. Other people made that record turn into what it did. Other people made that song an international, ground breaking, culture shocking opus of a scandal/artistic revelation.” Whatever the intent, the result was nothing short of a spiritual lynching. Christians decried the song as unholy and demonic while TON3X was more or less the anti-Christ himself.

Fast forward another year past the majority of the controversy, and an apology for the song “The Naked Truth” issued by Tonex in September of 2007, and with the surgical procedure of capitalization, the extraction of an “e” and insertion of the numeral three you’ve got a new man-and a new brand. “That was the last venom or puss that had built up over the [past] decade that had to come out in order for me to be who I am now. I knew that was going to be the death of Tonex. I knew then that that spelling would not be expedient for the return, or the resurrection of the new and improved,” TON3X said. In Christian cliché type-fashion the transformation was accomplished fully with a name change. Cliché or not TON3X is back, and he has set his sights on the land of mogul where the likes of Diddy, Jay-z, and Russell Simmons dwell. “[Although] I got crushed publicly the Lord is revealing me again; blessing me doubly for all the public humiliation that I went through. Whether it was self-inflicted or not, I came out alive!” TON3X said passionately. “And it’s like ya’ll shoulda killed me while I was down. You shoulda really got rid of me. But now that you didn’t do it it’s gonna be worse than what you thought it was before. Now it’s focused. Now not only is my body strong my mind is strong; not only is my mind strong my spirit is strong…. You can go to the cave and try to find me if you want to but the stone is rolled away. I’m not there.

But don’t think that TON3X is shying away from controversial topics. On his calendar for October of this year is a performance on the Black Gays and Lesbians Cruise. He was the only Christian artist that they asked that agreed to perform. I understand why; TON3X is sure to catch a lot of flack for that gig. “Yeah I’m going to catch a lot of flack,” TON3X agreed. “But I’m going to catch a lot of record sales and new fans too. No one is condoning anything. I’m just saying that if they spend money they’re just like any other consumer. And if they need a breakthrough they’re just like any other soul.” Being a new man equals new music. His new record, entitled “Bapostogic” dropping on August 12th, is an edgy, musical theological treatise on the need for unity among Christianity’s three dominant denominations: Baptist, Apostolic, and The Church of God in Christ. That is the abridged version. TON3X’s explanations of the concept behind the record was so thorough (including scripture citations and in the middle of his monologue a throaty and inspired exclamation of “Glory to God”) and so deep I had to review the tape at least three times and I still don’t think I got the full revelation. And I like to read Charles Spurgeon.

Long story short, I was exhausted at the end of the interview. Exhausted and extremely intrigued. It was by far the most interesting interview I’ve ever done. TON3X is a character. But so raw and transparent that you can’t help but respect him, and his antics are so charming you can’t help but like him. I went into this thing wondering: who is TON3X really? He’s real. He’s an actor, a mogul in the making. He’s a soon-to-be father. He’s cocky (but in a non-offensive way), hilarious, and outrageously driven. He’s an entertainer-period. There is no doubt about that. Who is TON3X? I’ll let him tell you:

I am that dude that represents the most extravagant, outward, flamboyant, bold, courageous, beautiful statement. What is that? I have the audacity to be myself. I have the audacity to know that God loves me, and knows all the things that came with me and still decided to anoint me. I’m that dude that’s so confident in everything he went through in life that I don’t mind putting myself out there. Because two seconds ago don’t even exist right now. The past is the past… I’ll be in multiple industries. I’m a triple threat. It’s the mogul. It’s the madness. It’s the music, it’s the ministry. It’s all these things that make up TON3X.

And that folks is all she wrote.

I think To3ex is great and I think u can not help but to love and respect him for being the person that he is,and not being fake about anything …….Ok! Maybe I read this wrong but did it say soon to be Father??? and does that mean like now or down the line….

In my opinion, any CHRISTIAN artist with a goal of becoming a mogul is clearly not in the will of God. When has God ever told anyone to exalt themselves to that point. Agree or disagree, say that I am judging or whatever have you, Tonex got it twisted to say…“[Although] I got crushed publicly the Lord is revealing me again; blessing me doubly for all the public humiliation that I went through. Whether it was self-inflicted or not, I came out alive!”…Tonex is not worried about no blessing, he is worried about album sales and being a spectacle. Guess all you can do is pray for the cat…..

Who are you to judge whether someone is in the will of God or not!? That sounds extremely proud and quite arrogant if you ask me…

Dude is definetly different. I’ve never been a fan of Ton3x cuz even when I heard him for the first time I couldn’t get with him and that was when I was far from right standing with Jesus. I don’t know how to feel. I mean he’s using foul language and seems to be like everybody else but just knows/knew who Jesus is. But at the same time I understand that he’s trying to blow up I guess to point people to Jesus.

I’m not mad at him wanting to be a mogul cuz any business man wants to dominate their industry that’s just the nature of competition. I may not be with it but maybe someone else can find Jesus through his music. He’s mos def not orthodox in his walk but its his soul on the line. A person hears 2 voices Jesus still small voice or or that dark one. We’ll find out who he really heeded in the end until then all we can do is make sure that we watch our own walk and pray for everyone else.

He mos def has went through alot. In addition to that we are only privey to what he has told us via interviews. Been a fan since ‘98 Smiley Face, but never me him. And have only been to one concert, where he ABSOLUTELY DID HIS THING! He obivously has no problems with foul language, but maybe he never did and WE just never heard him use it in songs or they were edited out of interviews. I think many of us(myself included) had the impression that he was a “good christian” because he was a youth pastor/artist, then senor pastor/artist. But Ton3x is Ton3x. He wants to stay unplugged from the matrix of some Christian circles because he feels they have been largely unsuccessful at reaching hurting people.
Whether he’s right or wrong, I’m sure that had a major factor in him doing that cruiz and him walking the road he’s walking.

Also, it is important that we don’t try to impose our convictions on others. No matter how good the conviction. Where the bible stops, we should stop. Jesus said ‘Don’t put heavy burdens on that people can’t bear’. God has a way of dealing with his people. Many times when we put our convictions on others it has a way of repelling them even more.

I don’t it’s our place to say someone is right or wrong. That’s for them to decide(and God will ulimately judge). If someone is in sin then we simply share the love of God and the truth with them. If someone asks us if they are right or wrong that’s different. Since then they have given you permission to speak into their lives and they are willing to recieve your opinion.

We are called to love our brothers. That means encourage/spur to good works. But not to judge, rather pray for them to come into a deeper knowledge of the truth. Remember, ‘My sheep know my voice’.

As a fellow artist and as one who was once in the ministry I would like to speak about Ton3x.Everybody who makes ridicule and places slander upon this man should check there soul. It is only the cry of a religious spirit that would cause you to say these things. In the days of Jesus time, He was persecuted and mocked by the religious establishment of the day. Today we have the same things happen when men of God stand up and stay real with people.
I can’t tell you how many of my unsaved friends have a copy of” The Naked Truth Mixtape”on constant rotation in there car and house. I went to a party the other day and they were playing Ton3x.This man has a spirit on him of relevance. I saw him preach a few weeks ago and the anointing was ever so present in that service. I’m not saying that I agree with everything the man does. There is a certain amount of credibility to him for not walking away from ministry. We all know that if Ton3x crossed over to the R&B world NOBODY could touch him. So get off your stuck up theology and lift this soldier up. It is a shame that Christians never recognize when God is doing something in the midst of them.

Whew - I just hit tonex’s myspace page, and his music is ABSOLUTE FIRE! He’s an undeniably talented man, whom I never gave a real chance.

To those who don’t really know him/don’t really like him, I encourage you to take one good listen to his playlist - you may find yourself converted like me.

Whoever “anonymous” is you are a hater. All you have done is hate and that is sad. I long for the day when the church will love there people and accept them for who they are. That’s why our churches are filled with the same people from week to week. We are not reaching the lost and when someone tries to we bad mouth them. We as ambassadors for Christ should long for brothers and sisters to be in high places of authority where they can make a change. All we usually have are other people in the body trying to dismantle what God wants to erect. So I’m speaking to you telling you to get the wisdom of the Lord in your life.
Once you have that you will see clearly that God’s plan is not always what we think and he has some unorthodox ways of doing things. He had Hosea marry a prostitute just to show him the revelation of what I’m telling you now. I hope he never asks you to do anything so drastic because you won’t even give this man chance and he is doing something much less dramatic. I pray that you do not always sit and scoff at men of God because you yourself long to be in there position.

Tom, where you married the first time you had sex? Are you supposed to marry the people you have sex with? Don’t go there. Sin is sin. Noone has ever refuted that. Jesus said “Let the one who is without sin among you cast the first stone.” Remember, the rightous Lord is the judge, not us.

It is important to point out that when we have a self-rightous attitude we can reach zero souls. Because the state of the heart is not right. Period.

  17. Woo says
    August 14th, 2008

Stephanie, read my post again. I said the rightous Lord is judge.

I have seen a trend in the culture of Christianity that is very saddening. Some believers are only interested in something when there is “dirt” involved. They have no interest in praying for those who have fallen short of His glory, which should be our first response. Their intent is to critisize rather than lift up.

My comment about premarital sex might have shocked some of you. It wasn’t aimed to hurt, rather point out that HUMANS MAKE MISTAKES.

I believed Tom was making a synical remark. So I asked him a striaght forward question.

  18. Stephanie Williams says
    August 14th, 2008

It must have took some skill to find cynicism in Tom’s remark. To me, it was a simple question. But I won’t sit here and argue Tom’s intentions because I’m not Tom. All I know is that your remark was a littl uncalled for. Your taking defending TON3X a little too far aren’t you? You’re defending him from people who aren’t even saying anything! You’ve done more criticizing than anyone that has commented; attacking these (fictional) “people” that are so judgemental… I just wanted to point out that you were doing a little judging yourself. You judged Tom’s post and came to a (I think) faulty conclusion and felt the need to lambaste him with questions about his sexual history. I think you need to take some our your own advice and chill out.

You don’t need my information, any problems you have with what I say, take it up with GOD because HE speaks through the scriptures… This is why you cannot be fans of people b/c you’ll defend whatever they do. This guy is cussing, promoting and singing for an abominable homosexual cruise and is having a child out of wedlock and you are calling him a great man of god? Which god are you talking about, not the God of the Bible who said “Be ye Holy for I am Holy” (1 Peter 1 15:16). Use the scripture in context, when He said “touch not my anointed… He was speaking of nations, kingdoms and other people who were not Jews i.e. non-believers (I Chorn 16: 20-22). You say Tonex is annointed, how when he is outwardly disobeying GOD. I John 3: 7-9, the Bible clearly states that he who commits sin (in the amplified, practices wrong doing) is of the devil. I Cor 6: 9,10-you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God. Read Mathew 7:13-23. Please people read your Bible and stop thinking that people are judging. No, the Word of God is judging you, so as “real” as Tonex is being (lol) if he does not repent, according to the word he is going to the real HELL! Tonex and anyone that defends his ungodly actions are not serving the GOD of the Bible. I Cor 5:9-13 tells us that those inside the church we are to judge and if he is wicked, expel him from the church. VesselVibe, Tonex and all those who defend sin and ungodliness you have been warned.

I did not at one time said in my comment that I agree with everything the man does, but I don’t have anything against him, I am not the judge of his soul only the Lord himself. I totally agree with the word of God I would not deny the word of GOD, marvin. What about moses he was a murder and God yet used him. You do not know what God is doing in Tonex life, what are you doing to ministry to a soul, the bible states to do nothing is a sin. God is a long suffering God and have much patients for everyone and Tonex to. The Lord god said repeat daily I am pretty sure Tonex does this. Do not forget that everyone sins come short of Gods glory and we are saved by grace. Tonex yet still have a chance to make Lord his Jesus because of the mercy and grace that God has for him in their is still life left in Tonex body, blood running through his veins. So you people that say you are children of God why don’t you pray for the body christ, it will help does that struggle with sin. GOD LOVES YOU,ME And TONEX. He states that he wish no men will perish. So you being a child of GOD should feel the same way GOD does. SO PRAY FOR TONEX and be some earthly good. How would you win a soul if you can not come on the level of a sin sick souls.

I want to thank you Marvin for presenting THE WORD first and foremost. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you’ve said.

It breaks my heart to see so many young people nowadays just going along with the popular fad and refusing to stand up for righteousness. Never in the Bible, did Jesus EVER sin just to reach the sinner. In fact he lived his entire life sin-LESS. What kind of message are we sending the young people of this generation that it’s ok to sin ( I mean “keep it real” ) in order to draw those we deem too far gone and unable to be drawn? Last I checked God was still SAVING, DRAWING, DELIVERING, HEALING, and CHANGING lives by the POWER of the HOLY GHOST. We’re taught in his word that if we lift HIM up (and not ourselves) then HE would draw all men to himself. -John 12:32

It’s never ok to sin and justify it by claiming “I’m just keepin it real”
God is not pleased by that….at all. When He saved us, He desired for everything about us to be surrendered and changed…..and contrary to popular belief…YES THAT MEANS KEEPING OUR MOUTHS IN CHECK. I know we’ll make mistakes along the road…it’s inevitable. But the point I want to drive home, is that we ought not glory in our infirmities and weaknesses. From the unbeliever’s perspective, why would they want to get to know our GREAT GOD if we (as His children who are supposed to be representing Him at all times) sound, look, and act just like them? We ought to be able to tell a difference between someone proclaiming to be a Christian and someone who’s not, don’t you think?

It makes me wonder, what did He save us from? What have we given up and sacrificed since we made Him our Lord and personal Savior? Just a thought…..

I could go on and on but time would fail me to do so. So I leave the following scriptures for your digestion. Be blessed!!!

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (1 Corinthians 6:2)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:15-16)

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (Rev. 3:15-16)

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, FILTHY COMMUNICATION OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have PUT OFF THE OLD MAN with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. (Colossians 3:8-10

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. (Matthew 5:37)

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That EVERY IDLE WORD that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (Matthew 12:34-36)

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

Thank the Christians (CM, Marvin and KD) for standing up and speaking the REAL truth about Tonex. Sounds like the only thing the brotha has done is think that God’s love and acceptance are the same. He hasn’t changed the sin, but is relaxed now that he has folks who accept his sin thinks that he’s still anointed.

He’s not and far from it. And only deceiving himself.

VesselVibe, this magazine will only be a vessel to further sin with these kind of articles. Every Christian community should be pulling Tonex’s CDs off their shelves until he truly gets it REAL with God!

I don’t approve or agree to sin, I thought I said that do not agree with everything the man has to say. Why don’t we as believers of christ stop judging one another for there mistakes and pray for the body of christ. like i said God Love you, me and Tonex. And he still has a chance to make Lord his Jesus. So PRAY FOR HIM INSTEAD OF TALKING AGAIST HIM IT”S WRONG. Remember even a thought is sin. My hopes for Mr. Tonex3 is to be knew in improved man of God, don’t you agree. So give him a chance to see himself for himself and continue to pray for him. scripture remember also that we ought to work out our own salvation. continue to pray for the body of christ this is assigned to us as children of God. I have not gave up on The knew improved Tonex and you shouldn’t either. That is why people are running out of church because people forgot about the greatest gift is LOVE PRAY! LOVE cover a multitude of sin. I admire everyone of you because you hold fast to the WORD OFGOD and this is important to do. rememeber what the emeny meant for our bad GOD is going to turn it around for our good. Moses himself the murder was called to free the israelites out of bondage into the promise land. And no one knows what GOD is doing in Mr. Tonex3 life. So pray that the will of God be done. I hope that everything works out right for TONEX, YOU an ME and everyone else. PRAY SAINTS everyone needs prayer even you, need to be prayed for as well. The bible saids pray without ceasing. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE…………..what a gift, how I love, because jesus loves. And do not forget GOD himeself is the judge of our souls.

Tom, it isn’t wrong for Christians to judge one another. Perhaps you aren’t aware of the apostle Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church. These were believers full of all kinds of sins that required many admonishments by Paul. But take a look in this passage where Paul is telling them what to do with Christians that persist in sin:

I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

See Tom, Christians ARE to judge one another, otherwise, if we just turned a blind eye and only “pray” without doing anything else, then hypocrites will overflow the church and Christian body of believers. But that’s exactly the problem we do have today. Folks are scared of “judging” so they say nothing.

Hopefully, Tonex will heed the words of those who truly love him and be more careful of his walk in the Lord. Or, he will just be a scorner and hate folks who tell him the truth, while loving folks who feed him lies about himself.

Well why don’t you personally go up to Tonex3 and give him a soft rebuke and tell him you love him and of his wrong doing. I totally agree with the word of God as I said before. If you are a child of God confront the saint Mr. Tonex3 and judge him of his sins face-to-face and maybe you will get somewhere, then we can say you truly love both God and Tonex. If I had the chance, the Bold christain I am I will tell him and their would be no strife behind it. Through Love and kindness have I drawn thee. Lets stop talking so much and address the problem since you guys feels that Tonex3 is not walking the walk as a christain. Are you a Bold saint, I am. Mr. Tonex3 I don’t have anything against you but there are some things you do I dont agree with AND SOME THINGS YOU SAY I DO AGREE WITH AND i WILL NOT GIVE UP ON THE KNEW IMPROVED TONEX3 BECAUSE GOD HAS NOT GAVE UP ON YOU. . YOU CAN REALLY BRING THE WORD OF GOD FORTH WITH POWER AND MIGHT. You are sweet person in the spirit and this I Know. God looks way beyond your faughts and I do to. SO REMEMBER TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED. THIS WILL MOST DINIFETLY INCREASE YOUR FAITH IN GOD. REMEMBER GOD SAID HE WOULD SUPPLY YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES AND GLORY. AND THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF EVIL. PRAY………..WITHOUT CEASING THE EMEMY COMES TO STILL…KILL… AND DESTROY, HE AFTER SOULS TO. FIGHT WITH THE WORD OF GOD AND YOU WILL WIN THE BATTLE OVER IT ALL.

Tom, no one is giving up on Tonex.

And there’s no need to speak to him privately because he hasn’t offended me privately or personally. His offense is public and so must his admonishment be - to the sisters and brothers in Christ. This is a Christian magazine so it’s appropriate to say what we need to say to Tonex on this board.

Because Tonex is also a pastor and is responsible for leading flocks, his rebuke is going to be even greater! This man is no newbie, he KNOWS the word of God and is without excuse for his actions.

But we do have a forgiving God, and no matter how many times we sin, if we confess them and FORSAKE them, God will be right there for us.

So the “family” is praying for Tonex and watching to see if he truly repents and starts showing actions confirming that he is a child of God.

  33. Jake Morgan says

Again what has this man done but go against stigmas in the church. This again is why the only type of people we have in the church are people like Marvin and CM.I’m not saying that the man is perfect in anyway but I ask you “let him who has no sin cast the first stone”. Yes it is not wrong to judge as CM said but your judgment must be righteous. This man went through a hard time in his life when Christians forsook him. It’s only the church and religious hypocrites that we have to thank for this mans outcome. I sincerely tell you to get off of your high horses and get the spirit of truth in your life.
God is not concerned with your actions as much as he is concerned with your heart. That is not to say that your actions are not a reflection of your heart but at times you can be at war in your spirit. You can be at war as to what is right and wrong in your life. I have struggled my whole life with God’s calling. I went to a Bible college and got a degree and was ready to do the work of the ministry. It was only after a couple of years that I discovered that wherever I went in the church, I saw more sin than I saw on the street. I saw more judgment than I saw on the street.
How many of you, with your pompous self righteous attitudes would call David a man of God. Judging David by his actions would make it appear like he was unrighteous, yet God called him a man after his own heart. This is because his heart was in the right place. You do not know Tonex enough to say his heart isn’t in the right place. Anytime you are called by God there will be an inner conflict with your flesh and at times your flesh will win. It is only when you get back on your feet and say I am better now because of HIM, I am improved now because of Him, I am strong now because of Him. If God’s people would spend more time worrying about themselves they would see that they are no different than this man. Some of you are still struggling secretly yet publicly rebuking this man. Marvin you are no different than his man and had it not been for Christ you wouldn’t even be here right now. You would have died along time ago in your sin along with all the gays on that boat. You are no different than him or anybody else. If you guys would listen to Tonex lyrics you would see a different man than you see now. Thank God somebody is reaching out to the gays because all you do is scoff at there condition and refuse to do anything about it.
I pray for you all, that God would touch your lives.

CM don not chicken out now you are the one that said christains can judge those that are lost in sin. And if you feel the pastor Ton3x knew improve needs to let known of his faughts, so you see the faught why don’t you be the bigger one and address his faughts to him. rebuke him.

Jake Morgan what Bible are you reading? You said “God is not concerned with your actions as much as he is concerned with your heart.” Have you not read Titus 1:16? They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. Don’t you understand that what you do is a manifestation of what’s in your heart? Understand the scriptures when you use them. When Jesus said let he who is w/out sin cast the first stone, the men went and grabbed this woman who was in sin PRIVATELY. We are not digging into Tonex’s private life, what he is doing deserves open rebuke because he is doing it openly. (I Tim 5:20) Again myself, KD, Sista in Christ are not giving opinons, this is the WORD of GOD. When does being forsaken give you an excuse to to live wickedly? If the church forsook him, SO WHAT! How many times did GOD tell us that HE will never forsake us? If you are at war in you spirit, sit down, get help and be quiet. Don’t be silly, he is not reaching out to gays by singing for them, he said in this article, he is just trying to sell records. Trust me bro, I know more about my salvation than anyone. It is because we value our salvation so much, we value what Jesus did for us so much, that we refuse to let his resurrection be made a mockery of by ANYONE! The Bible is the standard that we live by, and for anyone who calls themself a Believer of the GOD of the Bible, there is standard. If you don’t want to be judged by that standard, then don’t call yourself a Christian. The Word will judge you in the end. That’s not pompous or self-rightgeous, that’s just a fact. When Jesus saves it’s for a reason, not to continue in sin, or be friends with the world, but to lift up a STANDARD. To let our light so shine that men may see our GOOD WORKS and glorify our father which is in heaven. You’re right I’m nothing without HIM, but since HE’S with me, shouldn’t there be evidence? Of course, since he’s with me and giving me the grace to do what HE expects me to do and that’s live right, so that HE can be seen that’s what I’ll do. There is no debating righteousness and holiness, that’s what we are called to be and if you are struggling with it, stay out of the public and deal with it. You can defend sin and foolishness all you want I bow out

Who are the REAL hypocrites? If you all were really so concerned about judging, you wouldn’t be judging ANYONE yourselves!

    Recently. Selah.
When we got saved wasn’t there some stuff that we had to grow past?
All new believers need to be discipled, not churched. In the black church there is no shortage of preachers, nor muscians, however there is a shortage of disciples and disciple makers. We need to be intentional about helping people grow, instead of using scriptures as arrows to hurt.
Aint nobody here Holy Ghost Jr. It’s not our job to try to convict people that is the Holy Spirit’s job. He does it well.

  38. Thomas says

I hate to be judgemental but I am not feeling this brotha’ at all. I am an honest man myself and I believe a lot of the problem with people not being able to get a breakthrough has to do with the church not being transparent and making others feel that we believe we are perfect but I have to draw the line here. This man, whether he realizes it or not, condones and promotes sin. He may call it keeping it real but I call it irresponsible. I’m saved and yeah, from time to time a curse word may slip out of my mouth. I won’t pretend it doesn’t happen but I won’t act like it’s cool or pretend that doesn’t need to change. He used profanity in this interview just to make sure everyone knows he uses profanity and that is idiotic. We are not suppose to glory in our sins but know that Christ redeems us. Didn’t the apostle Paul say that he crucified his flesh daily? We are not to be happy with the workings of our flesh but to know that God is holy and that He hates sin. We all have some growing to do and I’m fine with Ton3x acknowledging that but I’m not cool with him using his downfalls to promote unholy living and pretending his music is gospel. I used to be a fan of his. He lost his way. Performing at a Black Gay and Lesbian tour is horrible. The Bible specifically says that homosexuality is wrong. He can use whatever excuse he wants for performing there but the truth is he knows that cruise does nothiong but promote a lifestyle that God has declared is an abomination. If he is invited and he performs he is a part of that promotion. God does not promote homosexuality but Ton3x does whether he says so or not. A man with a dangerous theology has the ability to lead souls astray and I wouldn’t touch Ton3x’s album with a ten foot pole. This man is a flaming homosexual who uses profanity in public just so others can see him do it. What type of Christian example is that? Contrary to what he believes, there is absolutely no deliverance in what he is doing at all. People who are lost are not drawn to Christ by people who act just like they do. The lost are drawn to Christ when the Holy Spirit moves on them and convicts them, leading them to repentance. When I got saved, I did it because I was tired of the life I was leading, not because I wanted an excuse to live the same way and use God’s grace as an excuse for why I was ok. I have gone to church all my life, that has nothing to do with being saved. Being saved is a condition of the heart and a daily lifestyle and Ton3x is not representing that at all. Shall we continue sinning that grace may abound? Certainly not! Ton3x needs to stop acting like his music is gospel and go completely secular. There is no place for this type of gender confusion and nonsense in the body of Christ. I’m just not feeling dude at all.

Does anyone care to ask the context of the interview?

When was the interview conducted ?

What may have transpired privately with God right after this was printed ?

Ton3x represents An improvment of Tonex but just like an Apple Computer I’m still recieving updates daily because I’m Dying daily.
I just happen to leave my “cookies” exposed for everyone to see.

I wonder if we searched everyone’s “internet cookies” I wonder just how many yummy treats we would find.

The bible say to confess your fault one to another. I have been doing nothing in my Christian walk but show What you can see and what you can’t see, just like everybody else accept many ties they don’t have the courage or can’t trust God’s Love and Word enough to know that this is not the final stage.

When I read these comments I see once again How Christian love to machine gun each other using scriptures as a weapon. Not to heal or reprove but to say ” I’m right & this brother is wrong.” I have the audacity to not glorify my stuggle I’m meering presenting my current reality but thank God He’s not through with me yet.

I used to cuss people out for full paragraphs at a time. I just got saved not that long ago so there’s still some residue and I’ve gotten alot better… even my congregation at church was like Pastor we really see u growing and changing for the better in the Man of God he wants you to be. We check each other there. No big “I” and “little U” stuff there.

No I’m not married. And hell no, I ain’t a FLAMING homosexual never have been and never will be. People don’t know me from a can of paint only what’s printed and only what revealed. There’s some thing that I don’t hide but might never show , but what about the things that NO has seen you do but you ‘ve done them. Or you repented privately so by the time you get back to your church no one knows what you experienced.

Does it give you guys a great feeling of satisfaction to know that you CHECKED me and put me in my place ? That’s the feeling I get. Wicked Ton3x, demonic Ton3x would touch his album with a ten foot pole. That why nikkaz like me won’t come 50 yards within your churches.

We lepers, hoes, faggots, drunkards and drug addicts, porn addicts, mentally and sexually abused but anointed people honestly have no where to go because of the misunderstanding and misappropriation of scriptures toward us.

People are doing stuff because ton3x is influencing them, they are already doing it . I’mjus the voice for the voicesless who are afraid to say what really going on and what they need help with because they know they’ll get CRUCIFIED and STRANGLED by this loving group of people called ” The Church”. However , Jesus preached to the message of the Kingdom. The kingdom is not denominationally driven, it’s a purpose driven church. Most of the things said in this interview was there just so that it can be revealed just where the state of LOVE is in the Church. I’m all for holiness trust I was raised in it …. but that’s something you work out on your own. You don’t work out other people’s salvation for them, you don’t assume where someone is with God, you don’t assume you have all the facts and all the angle to a story because you don’t know.

All we know is the product was this interview. Not desire to investigate where all of this started. If you really wanna help somebody in the NOW , you have to start WAY BACK THEN.
I don’t believe that God has brought me this far to leave me.
I’m growing , I’m still a mess sometimes , but I am NO WHERE near where I was a year ago let alone 3 weeks ago. For that and that alone I give God praise. Say and type what you want but you and nothing else ( including myself ) can separate me from the Love of God and unlike many of you He keeps looking past my fault to see my needs. Thank u Jesus !

(Someone told me I need to get back here…now I see why!)

Okay Tonex, just need to know a couple of things from you. I’m willing to ask forgiveness of the way I’ve talked about you if you admit to how you want to be treated as: a newborn babe in Christ!

If you want to be treated as one new to the gospel, you will be handed with kid gloves by those of us who’ve known Christ for a while. But you will have to leave the ministry because the bible is clear, new believers can’t be heads of flocks because the expectations are too high - which I’ve had of you thinking of you as a long-time Christian and pastor.

But if you’re saying that you now know what it means to be born again and desire the growth and love it takes to become a new creature in Christ, then welcome to the fold and brother you have my blessings! But it does come with mild rebukes as you grow in the Lord.

So either you are a pastor which means the harsh rebukes will flow, or you ARE a babe in Christ needing nurturing.

Which is it? It can’t be both! If I don’t hear back from you, then I’ll just leave things as they are.

Qualifications of a Pastor (please note verse 6 Tonex)

1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 1 Timothy 3:1-7

    Peace in Christ,

OK. Well I’m not a newbie to the church game. I used to be apart of the ministry mafia ( you know the “hey doc” crowd/mentality) but yet I’m just now starting a brand new personal relationship with Christ on His terms in which this relationship was initiated by Him showing uncondidtional love to me ….so much so it got on my nerves because personally I was done with the whole “church thing”. Why would I be done ? because I KNEW there was more to God then what “they ” were telling me.

As far your statement “So either you are a pastor which means the harsh rebukes will flow, or you ARE a babe in Christ needing nurturing.
Which is it? It can’t be both!”

Who made that rule up?….. You ?

according to the bible Jesus states:

“And He said unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, he shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 18:3

In your mind perhaps, ( I don’t know u so I can only assume ) that you are church based and well rooted so I won’t bore you with too much of what you already obvisously know but I have to stay dependent on God as a child.

Yet I oversee a congregation of people that are VERY unchurched but their WORSHIP is so real and sincere. Nothing like many of the Pseudo Prophetic fodder I’ve seen of recent charasmatic trends. (You know how praise and worship is the “Hot thing” right now.)

So yes I’m a Pastor/Shepherd but yet I am a member. I give what thus saith the Lord but I’m also humble enough to know that I need personal devotion aside from my Role as a Leader. After all The greatest leader is a servant.

It’s amazing that you feel that because am a pastor that I get to get Rebuked and Bashed as if I am above the law. I’m also responsible for my own soul which trust me is a task within itself when so many people are looking to you to be ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. If you wanna get real about it , you’re gonna be doing a WHOLE LOT of rebuking when you find out just how much Pastors really are HUMAN and live in a prison of FEAR because if anyone ever knew that they needed help and needed God just as much as the people that they are ministering too people would KILL THEM.

These rebukes on here weren’t even rebukes they were accusations. I didn’t feel love I felt criticism and judgement.
Some of them that posted I felt was a sincere admonishment.
There is nothing constructive about criticism but EVERYONE has a right to their opinion. And you opinion is important because everyone has a right to one.

I know this thing backwards and forward it goes back like 5 generations deep so trust me I know the whole in and out and being a PK at a young age I saw and heard alot that was questionable but because it was laced with a great sanctified look minus accessories ( bangles are a sin ; well they were last season in the fashion do’s and don’t section of Church Folk Magazine.

With that in mind I decided to but introduced to Jesus by Jesus Himself not people that are constantly saying what they THINK he’s saying but they are speaking out of religion and not relationship. So in that way I can say that I just got saved not that long ago. Everytime I repent and get up from the altar I am a NEW creature and a baby all over again yet in the prophetic and delievery of the WORD I feel like a70 year old seasoned vet because of who I studied under and my Mother and Father really drilling the Word in side of me at a VERY young age ( since birth to be exact).

I’m not asking anyone to agree, I’m telling my story as where it stands as of now. David had a story to tell and so did paul. I mean these cate KILLEd people for a living LOL and yet you can quote them and throw it at me like a bag of sunflower seeds. These men went though an open process we just pick out the parts we like to best to our advantage. As I stated before God’s not through.

This process is in forward motion with occassional setbacks. Not that I have attained or even have apprehended perfection—-I press towards the mark of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus.
You all are upset because someone you want to have on a pedestal won’t own up to being something that’s he can never be within himself. I obey the calling on my life to minister and AS I GO I’m being healed. Jesus told the lepers to show themselves to the priest. They were not healed right on the spot but as they went in obedience they were healed along the way.

Many people go through this evolution in secret I just happen to be living mine out in front of everybody……by choice. Because that’s the path I’ve been destined to take.

Its just like I said brother. Pastor Tonex summed it all up for you. You are constantly becoming a more improved version of yourself through Christ. It is because you die more everyday to yourself. The problem is that everybody expects you to be on that Jesus level off the top. We should appreciate it when a brother in Christ bares all and shows his flaws. It is a rare thing and very uncommon in the church. No one had more of an inner turmoil than Paul. He said the things I want to do I struggle with and the things I don’t want to do, I find myself doing all the time. That’s paraphrased but basically the jest of his message.

  47. CM says

Tonex, your immaturity shows in your use of scripture. I’m really shuddering at the thought of the people you are leading.

You are a pastor/bishop/overseer/leader of your church and no matter how much you try to word it, it still remains true that you are a church leader. Here are a few examples of that first verse in 1 Timothy and how it’s used in other translations:

1 Timothy 3:1 in different translations:

The Message: -If anyone wants to provide leadership in the church . . .
KJV - This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop . . .
NIV - Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer . . .
NASB - It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer

1 Timothy 3:8 next begins with the qualifications of a deacon. So the hierchy of the church leadership is set Tonex. Bishop, Overseer, or Pastor, whatever you want to call it, you are in that position. Then its the deacons. You say you are responsible for your own soul, yes that’s true. But for accountability, that’s why God gave deacons and other ministers to be under the position of pastor. That’s a spiritual “check” system to keep the pastor in line. Doesn’t sound like you have that check at all.

But I’m glad you do realize the seriousness of the position of the bishop, otherwise you wouldn’t be trying to weasel your way out of being called one with its strict qualifications. But it’s too late because you are already at that point in 1 Timothy 3:6 where it warns not to let a novice in that position because of the dangers of the novice becoming “puffed up” and falling into the snare of the devil. Yes, you are already there.

You are puffed up, arrogant and conceited and trying your best to have the best of both worlds - wanting the office of leadership in the church while escaping the rebuke that comes with a wayword elder. You want the claim of being “new” so that people can be so understanding and patient with you. No, no more sympathy for you Tonex from those of us who truly know God’s word.

Thank you for answering my questions about yourself. You’ve let the world see your conceitedness and unwillingness to humble yourself and extract yourself OUT of the ministry and get under a wise minister who could help direct you into the true maturity of an up and coming elder of the church to which I do believe you are gifted to become.

Well, I’ve completed my sharing on this board. I’ve been able to write to you directly, but now I’m outta here for good. If you wish to direct anything more my way, please come over to my board.

    Thank you,

    Now;

    Here’s what you typed CM……

“PS - Once saved, always saved and there’ s no need for repeated trips to the altar for God’s acceptance into His family. Either you are born again, or you are not.”

    Here’s my response;

OK…. so once again the internet community gets to view what happens if there is any type of communication or adult exchange attempt with a believer. If these are the tactics that are used to win people over to our religious ” country clubs ” you can see just how intimidating this can be from the outside looking in.

The way it works with many people like yourself is like this; ……
if someone doesn’t believe what we believe then we immediately dismiss them, slam them say our piece and then bail because our “work ” is done.

Trust me I get rebuked or corrected if you will quite often more by God then man to be exact and of course by overseerers but hey at the end of the day I am still a grown man that has to find God for myself and let Him reveal to me through each transistion the truth of how He sees me.

But …..I’m still trying to figure out how was anything that was just used from the bible was really effective in trying to give someone understanding to the point of consideration for change….( we both know that the Word of God is pure this indeed is a FACT) but the way we use it to win a discussion or to drive in our interpretation of a text is very alarming.

I saw this one movie starring mandy moore called “SAVED !”
I was angry at many part of the film because I thought it was blasphemous until I really looked at this objectively and then I was embarrased. I was like….” Is this REALLY how Hollywood and the rest of the World sees us ?” If you haven’t seen it cyber saints I suggest you do at least once. There are some racy moments where I was like ” Uh No ” but for the most part unfortunately they were DEAD on.

There is NO private interpretation of the Scripture. And we have to look at the Greek and Hebrew translations unbiased. I’m still studying to show myself approved. Why must I be called arrogant and conceited just because I actually had the nerve to write back and want to engage in a conversation. I told you in the last PS post that there was NO CAT SPRAY on this.

You obviously are either so pissed off because someone doesn’t conform to your absolutes that you don’t even have the patience or time to exchange dialogue by sitting down to reason together. Now, I asked myself earlier was it even worth writing the first time but you seemed like you were level headed enough to have a regular exchange without it being all ” THAT WAY”. It’s not neccessary and I’m not here for a debate; really I’m not —-just trying to share what my view are and compare notes maybe even learn something in the process.

It’s really sad that anyone that seeks for more knowledge in the Word studying and looking deeper than just saying ” My Pastor Says” gets shot , sliced and murdered. We respect and honor the Men of God of COURSE! But we must study to show “ourselves ” approved. Going to church shouldn’t be a revelation, going to church and hearing the Word should be affirmation from what we have been studying on our own. We should come to church to get a Word we need to BE the WORD.

I don’t have all the answers but I should not be crucified for my questions. Now imagine someone who is not in our faith comes on here and sees how you flip out on me? How does that look ? I mean if I was on the outside looking in I’m not sure I’d wanna be apart of Any religion because of how much hatred prejudice and malice is laced in the undertone of what we call “THE TRUTH”
    ( me included )

I listened back to some of my sermons and heard me saying what I knew would make the crowd react (self righteously speaking), but when I listened closer I heard racism, prejudice and a lack of patience. There was much truth to what I was saying INDEED but the way that I was using it for superiority above the common man made me unlike Christ who knew how to Get down and dirty with the foks that had a great heart.

Yet He ( Jesus ) was without sin. I however AM a sinner saved by nothing but grace. I have the power to fall and err like the next person but it’s that human touch / Thorn that keeps me on my face.

“Once saved always saved” you said.

Don’t say that too much around the system of Church.

You see some sectors make their money off making you feel like you’ll never obtain true salvation unless they grant you forgiveness. They make money off of your struggle saying you need to sow this and that to get free or pay 100.00 for this and that and then God’s gonna move. If I find out that all I need to do is to boldly to the throne of Grace , some clergy members are threatened by that because it takes their power away.

No man can own a church and only GOD can forgive a sin and you can’t get to GOD except through JESUS CHRIST.
See you fail to realize it takes the Holy Ghost for someone to be able to say that Jesus is God because that’s something that’s not taught it’s revealed. So please don’t insult my spiritual intelligence either. I’m not conceited CM , I’m convinced. Convinced that if I keep searching and thirsting after righteousness I’m gonna get filled. This is just the documented journey of someone who got tired of taking ” their” word for it and chasing after God for myself.

The Black Church is not BAD AT ALL. I am a product of the Black Church. It produced great qualities and morals but it also produced fear and judgement and had me fall into deep arrested development. In my quest for ” Abundant Life ” (that we all speak of) I had to stop trying win people over to Christ with FEAR and keep preaching about His love and the Death Burial And Resurrection of Christ Jesus. It’s his blood that covers a multitude of faults.

I admit there are plenty of things that I have said and done that could have been done better. And that I know I will do better, but if what will make you feel better is to simply say I PUT TONEX in CHECK ….or I TOLD HIM and Etc. Then yo…you’ve won your award already but was it effective? Thank God I’m mature enough to know that it ’s admirable that someone like yourself stands up for something and holds a strong position.

We need more people to believe in something and I dig that about you at least you have the guts to post your name ( holla back Anonymous: cyber saint texing ghost LOL I ain’t mad at you u though).

CM At least you are striving for holiness and righteouness on your path and that I can’t help but respect. But I don’t feel that I am getting that same respect back. Now if you plan on winning someone over from another faith then you are gonna have to change some of you war tactics. I mean keep it gully (you are obviously a soldier and that’s kinda hot the way you are no nonsense) But some people aren’t moved by emotion or by the things we hold so deeply and they need an intelligent level headed approach with prophetic revelation of the Holy Spirit.
See they know our Scriptures backwards and forwards and have studied multiple religion and backgrounds. We just come with ” the bible says” and don’t know scripture to first without the assistance of Google.

If all you know is what you know then it can be difficult to reach outside of that particular paradigm. There’s a big world out there and if we are gonna reach them first it must be done in the spirit of Love.

Tonex, it appears to me that you are deviating from what CM is saying. This is not about winning lost sould c/s you are supposed to be in the kingdom. We are not throwing scripture at you to hurt you. There is a standard that Christians must live by and if you are openly contradicting the life of those who are in Jesus Christ then regardless of how it feels you need to be put in your place. If we are going to be real about it, you are not alone. The majority of those in the gospel industry Kirk Franklin, Karen Clark Sheard, J Moss, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams etc. need to be confronted as well because they are claiming Christ yet being unequally yoked with non-believers, having friendship with the world, and doing many things in the public that is bringing reproach to the name of The Lord. So while I applaud you being available, that does not change the fact that what you are doing in public is wrong. Why can’t you just stay out of the spotlight and let GOD deal with you? It’s not just gospel artists, these big named Bishops and Pators- Joel Olsteen, Eddie Long, TD Jakes, Billy Graham, Juanita Bynum etc. are all doing things contrary to the word of GOD! Realize that the reason the church is viewed the way it is because the gospel music industry, televangelist etc. have compromised virtually all standards that The Lord has given us for money. Do you really think that GOD intended for his music to be a business or an industry? Of course not, b/c once you start putting money in the equaiton you’ll have this mess we have now where you can’t tell the difference between the world and the church. Jesus is coming back so He is coming for a church without spot (There’s some cleaning going on in the church) or wrinkle (He’s ironing out the crooked lines). So what’s really going on is that there are people of GOD who are saying enough is enough, we cannot say we serve the same GOD but have a seperate standard of living. Did not Paul say in I Cor 1:10 that we should all speak the same thing? Speaking of Paul yes he did reveal that he had a struggle, a war within his members but guess what, he did not put it on public display either, he did not use profanity and he did not try to make money by exploiting people’s sinful condition. He still rebuked sin, he did not entertain homosexuals like you are about to he preached against it. You are not a victim. If you’re a Pastor, one of your qualifications is that you must be blameless. GOD has standards Tonex. If you are to be numbered with those that believe GOD then you must live by them also. It does not bring me joy to check you b/c I want to see you redeemed. I can only speak for myself, but when I saw new and improved Tonex, I”m thinking Tonex has stopped cussing, blaming EX Ministries for his issues, not promoting sin. Instead I see that you are still just as confused as you were before. Humble yourself bro. Ask for help. David was able to accept rebuke, not make songs lashing out against the prophet Nathan. He was humble enough to receive correction. So this is really going to sound crazy, but reach out to someone who is not going to try to exploit you for your gift, or put a Band-Aid on your wounds. Finally, I want to say this: if you had a relative that you loved who was getting bigger and bigger, eating nothing but fried foods, pork, soda, and cake and there was a serious threat of high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes, what would you do? Would you not tell them to they need to stop or they will die? What if they made excuses, wouldn’t you care too much about their life to not still warn them? This is the same thing, you soul is on the line, we don’t want you to die we want you to live but what you are doing is killing you. So please don’t be deceived by the adoration of your fans, you are not helping them and they’re not helping you. But if you sat down, got out of the spotlight and got with some true men of GOD, then you could come back as the new and improved Tonex. That’s Love

I must say that the title of this article caught my attention.. as it sparked in me the hope that Tonex had actually made significant “approvement” in his (very public) demeanor. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to discover what appears to be a continual exhibition of his lack of discretion and self-control.

Yes, I just made a judgement (that is, came to a conclusion.. the saints should really get a dictionary.); I cringe inwardly everytime someone confuses Jesus’ criticism of the hypocritical condemnations issued from the Pharisees with the sound, objective discernment or deduction of Spirit-filled believers. And my judgement is credible, because I can honestly identify with where Ton3x is right now… a complicated place of trying to sort through 1) a history of being pigeonholed or misunderstood, due to an inherent, God-given greatness that transcends all familiarity and definition. 2) Having a public life/ministry, busy schedule, and position of leadership and responsibility that is extremely sacred, while simultaneously dealing with private (and seemingly endless) temptations, warfare, and secret sins… and at times being unsure of who to trust. 3) Dealing with the loneliness and frustration of being called and seperated by God with a very unique anointing for a very unique assignment, that few can idenitify with… so trying to articulate it feels like talking to a wall. 4.) Lacking a father or legitimate mentor (both naturally and spiritually) who has answers and/or experience to help you along such a extreme path.

All of this can at times become emotionally overwhelming, causing one to becoming extremely vulnerable, and can result in a breakdown or improper public exposure. Ton3x’s “nakedness” was and is still.. improper public exposure. I would compare it to Ham seeing Noah’s nakedness during Noah’s drunken state.

The public simply can not handle your nakedness, Tonex; and neither indeed should it have to. There’s a difference between dealing with personal failures in private and suppressing them and pretending they don’t exist. The two are NOT the same, although, at times, you seem to confuse them. The former exercises discretion and patient self-control, while remaining in the realm of “keeping it real”, while the latter is deception to the self and other’s. I know you claim to be “keeping it real”, but your candidness isn’t expedient, and has become a stumbling block to many.

You are crazy talented!..which is why I want to see you come-back with the truly “New and Improved” Tonex. :-) Hopefully you’ll consider my critique, as it is built on the premise of understanding.

I’m sorry MARVIN, did you just say this is not about winning souls???!!!???

Think about what you said for one moment.
You are terribly WRONG. This was the real reason, the apostles were commisioned and sent out. This was the real reason they were instructed to stay in Jeruselem, to be baptised with the Holy Spirit so they could be sent out to reach world with the gospel. Why are we so content with keeping church attendance up? Church attendance means you just kept the quota. Disciples are supposed to be multiplying(2Tim 2:2)! Why not “GO” like Jesus said in Matt 28:19. As we “Go” and are about our Father’s business(which is speading the gospel, not keeping a standard) some of the ugly issues that have plauged our life will fall off.

Yes God calls us to be holy. Absolutely. Notice, God has called us, not Marvin. Standards and convictions are good and are from the Holy Ghost, and help us to break old habbits and create new ones. Just because someone doesn’t have our standard, or maybe they haven’t grown to that point to where WE THINK THEY SHOULD BE, it doesn’t mean we speak to them in a condesending way. Remember Jesus said ” Take the plank out of your own eye, before you try to remove the speck from someone else’s”.
Also another point, is we should never be anxious to rebuke someone! As pastors/elders we must remember that while “we oversee the flock”, they are not our flock! We have been ENTRUSTED with HIS flock. When we do rebuke it is not because ” I’m bout to set this person straight!” Are we so perfect that we hold others to our standard? God forbid! The standard is Christ. So while we do admonish, correct, encourage it must be done with the spirit of hope that this will make them better and love becasue when you rebuke someone, it should hurt you just like it would hurt you when you whip your 6yr old, because you love them.

Ton3x if you read this, I applaud you for even responding!-Wow… I wonder why you are responding???

Is it a situation like when my brother was going thru pre-draft camp NBA workouts and he found himself on his birthday! Being a Southern Cali King(Southeast Dago, SouthCentral LA, Highschool,College Boss!) in a secluded gym 7 o’clock in the morning at a workout for his Agent in a gym working out for him and some NBA scouts and right when my brother walks in the gym, get this…..??

But anyway, Michael Jordan, the greatest, most wealthiest basketball player, mogul of all time, retired!!!

Sitting in a gym sitting on the floor watching and talking trash to a couple of (sorry bro) college recruits, NBA hopefuls!! LOL!! They havn’t even had a steady career never the less starred in the NBA! And he is the greatest player of ALL-TIME! LOL!! Now to anyone who doesn’t find that funny, I’m an ex athlete was very competitive when I played might I ad who left the game (A sizeable pro-contract) to further my studies about the Kingdom of God.

But Jordan doesn’t even play, LOL!! And he is in the gym watching and talking trash to my brother about a 1 on 1 game 7 o clock in the MORNING! LOL!!!

That makes you wonder how much the REALLY LOVES THE GAME!!!

NO LIGHTS!! NO CAMERAS!!! NO BLOGS!! NO RECORD SALES!!NO 20,000 STADIUM CROWD, NO KARL MALONE, ISAIAH THOMAS, LARRY BIRD, MAGIC JOHNSON opposing Him!!! NO TV STATIONS!!

Just a couple of un-proven NBA hopefuls and he is getting into like it is GAME 7 of the NBA Championship, His first one!!!

But Jordan is in a high school gym 7am in the morning, coaching talking trash, daring my brother to say something (because he was man handling the other guy…), itching to play my brother in 1 on 1!! Hilarious!!

Makes you wonder how much he really loves the game!!!

So any way thats why I applaud you Ton3x on your long extensive multiple post if its like that for that reason…. Ya Dig??? Lol!! Just thought I share.. That was really funny to me recounting that!!…LOL!

It’s not about keeping it real, it’s not about judging. Profanity is not accepted or condoned by God. Words reveal the true nature of a persons heart. Matthew 12:34-37

    CM,
What I really admire about you and is that you hold fast to the word of GOD and this is smart of you. And the last days we as children of God are going to have to be more aware of false prophets.

We must keep in mind that we are here to win souls over to christ and not lose them over to the emeny, it not about fame or fortune, but love, which is the greatest gift that one should desire.

I think you, being the excellent writer you are, should write a article or book, on how to idenify true children of God, from a counterfeits. Not singling anyone out, such as Bishop E. Long, Yonalda Adams and etc. Those that read your article or book will find their place, whether it is with God or the emeny. It is important that we do not start strife with one another, because we want to win souls over to christ himself.

Iam a strong believer of God and truly loves him and others. And will fight for what right as well. I am not taking no one side that is not walking a walk of a godly women or men, but I will continue to love them as I love myself remembering that they are precious to God himself because I am in the business of winning souls over to God and I do not have time for agruments and fights, because time is prescious to me. The moment we forgot about God and what we should be doing as saints, we are losing souls over to the enemy. God Bless.

You don’t speak against anoited men.Miriam was struck with leprosy because of her slander of an anoited one.Ministries suffer this problem and are falling apart everyday.Just like the human body they are breaking down in a form of spiritual leprosy.David was admonished by the Lord for the mere thought of wanting to kill a king.He just cut the garment of a guy who had murdered others to try and murder him and God would not have that.
Look I am not saying that I am perfect or Tonex is perfect but that is just the fact,WE ARE NOT PERFECT!! The roles of the chuch are five fold but the people that fill that hand are not perfect, not one!So whether you are thinking it or your doing it,its all the same and we all fall short of the glory of God everyday.God spoke through an ass,I know he can use this vessal. He can use Tonex vessal just as well as anybody elses. It is when we relize that the more we try to live holy the more we fail that we will know it is a day by day process. One day you may be filled up with pride just praying for God to help you in that area and the next day you have overcome. What a shame that Pastors feel like they have to bottle up there sin and can not confess to one another without recieving condemnation. If Tonex is wrong for ministering to Gays in there house than Jesus is the biggest sinner of them all.He did not spend much time at all in the church.Instead he hung out with the sinners everyday. He hung out with a bunch of foul mouthed fishermen that he raised up to change the world.Jesus hung out at parties with hoars, gays, robbers, and the degenerate of the day.He must have been relevant because they kept inviting him back.Maybe that why the church stayed so mad with him, because they never got invited to the parties.

I have one thing to say….Ton3x is doing the right thing by going through this out in the open. because 1) we already have a perfect example through Jesus Christ so we don’t need another man to strive to be something he can never be, that is perfection in the public eye 2) unlike others, some people actually realize that they aren’t perfect and why would they need another person who’s seemingly perfect standing over them just cuz that “perfect” person went through the struggle behind closed doors. No, let Ton3x be an example to others that, even God is made strong in our weakness, and shown to be perfect in our imperfections.

    D. Chaste, I assume that your post is a reply to mine above. If so, allow me to offer a couple of tips for you when challenging another’s statements: 1) When “quoting” someone, do so verbatim.. otherwise, there’s a good chance you’re misrepresenting the person you’re quoting; 2) Seek first to understand, then to be understood.. Listening is the principal part of communication.

That said: I said NOTHING against being transparent. Instead, my post was about being mature or RESPONSIBLE enough to exercise discretion and self-control during times of weakness; avoiding indecent exposure. Moreover (as I stated above), dealing with personal, sensitive issues in private is NOT the same as “NOT going through life transparently”. The two are totally different things.

It seems that you have made the same mistake Tonex makes in his response(s) above, namely, becoming so subjective in your reasoning or opinion of his actions, that you antagonize all objectivity. This is reinforced when phrases such as “for some people” are used as an attempt to justify Tonex’s actions (as if it is normal for the church to act in this manner) OR when terms such as “perfect” are used to replace “responsibility” and “maturity” or to dismiss those who choose to walk in such. Truth is, none of us are perfect, but he who dares to be a leader must demonstrate a level of maturity, responsibility, or excellence above that of a layman, having put away childish things… else, that person is not fit to be a leader.

If becoming like Christ is my goal, only those who are closer to accomplishing that goal can be my leaders/examples. Everyone esle is trailing me.

To read al this comments, I can only say everybody has something in it, where you as a child of God can be agree with. To be a christian you must live according to the Word of God, to be an example especially when you’re in the frontline, because you’re an example for many. On the other side you have to keep the treshold low, otherwise people are not coming to the Lord, so you have to act in love, not in judgement. Religion has broken many things. So the most neccesary thing is that you are in the Lord Jesus and He has to be in you. That means to eat daily from His Flesh and drink of His Blood. Outside Him is lawlessness. So if you do anything outside Him and not in Him or trough Him, He can say go away your workers of lawlessness I never new you. Even if you act in His Name, that may not be enough (read Matth.7). He wants to be in us and worktrough us because He is the fullfillment of the law, so outside Him is lawlessness. Do you love Him so much, that His life become yours? We all fail in this way sometimes or often. If we are full in Him we automaticly do what He want because we don’t want to offend Him or that He leave us. That means we are constantly search our own life if we live according to His will and have no time to judge others in this. We love them and pray for them, to see them grow and maybe a little correct them, or let them see, so that they don’t fall into the pit. But everything must be done in love and out of love. Many people fail in that, I sometimes too. We are human and the circumstances can make us doubt sometimes, but than we get up and go foreward forgetting the things that are behind and reach for the prize that lays foreward. We have to humble ourselves every moment of the day. And ask Him forgiveness for our wicked ways. Nobody on earth can say that he don’t sin or don’t sin any more. We must confess and be in Him and He in os otherwise we cannot bear fruit. It’s easy to see the splinter in someone elses eye and forget to see the beam in our own eye.

Anyone that has the courage to display their heart, convictions, views should be applauded. If an individual is spending thier energy for the furthermet of somthing greater than them, how can you hate. Whether you agree with everything is pointless.

The church has for so long tried to be “The Convictor” for people that it becomes venomous condemnation. Jesus told his disciples “. . . if you are not received, shake the dust off your feet.” In other words - move on. But we (the church) love to camp out in places that are dead.

Interestingy enough if, you’ve have ever mad a mistake, fallen in sin, or been in a controversial situation how long did it take for people to treat you with respect again?

Being a leader isn’t always making the right decisions. Sometimes it’s learning from some of the wrong ones and continuing to exercise your gift and being obedient to your calling!

I dont have alot of time to watse on this subject because its getting old. Anthony Williams has been one of the most talked about subjects in gospel music for over 10 years now and its sad to see him keep going through this cycle. I have personally tried to speak to him via email myspace and all that jazz and always end up getting my posts deleted. For the sake of time and hunger because my food is waiting, I will say this……….The separation or should I say distinction of believers and non believers is extremely blurred due to this type of behavior and distorted dialogue. I am really tired of seeing these articles where Anthony has to justify his actions to us as BELIEVERS. I dont understand why even BELEIVERS cannot agree on the antics of one of our own brothers. I mean get this…HE IS A LEADER IN A CHURCH!!!! He says hes never been gay, even though Oak Park seemed to suggest that this may have been an issue and half of San Diego claims to know his personal business, he says he just got saved or redefined the terms of his salvation, he has done alot of questionable antics, uhm lets see like running out of an awards show during a performance because he thought the “ccm crowd was dead and Jesus was alive”, retiring from Gospel music because he was too annoited, making the Out of the Box change only for marketing purposes (still have the article), releasing the Naked Truth, apologizing, and then selling it as a means to signify the old Tonex is dead, singing on a Gay Cruise to promote album sales, we wont even get into the whole Norman Wagner and the reality show stuff. I mean its just getting old. Tonex you need a new gimmick. If you want to be in the world, just do it. Aint nobody on this board bashing Jay Z because we know where he stands…ON THE OTHER SIDE. You cause confusion bro. Its discouraging that people are doing articles on you when you aint even solid in your own convictions. I cant make any more excuses for you and I understand you havent asked me to but this is getting old. Real Talk man stop this mess or get out the game….the GOSPEL game. Just be a star dude people will respect you more. You cant corner both markets because the church aint a market. It should be a business venture or a merger like the whole Weeks Bynum scenario. For all that presented sound theological arguments, much love. For those that didnt including responses from the artist formally known as Tonex ( how would you pronounce the new spelling anyway?)…get a bible or save this page and re read it from top to bottom.

Ya know I am such a Tonex fan. I don’t want to use an open forum such as this to blast the guy. Sometimes it takes some longer than others to get it together. Some people never do. Either way it goes we are to pray and love each other. I’m sure I’m not that 1st to say this add I’m sure I won’t be the last. Yes, he may have issues but you must admit that he’s admitted that. How many of us can say that? Often times we are fearful to admit our struggles because we think the people/church folk are going to put us down. AND THEY DO! Some people have a hard time becoming FREE because of our lack of love, pray, wisdom and so one. Trust me I’m learning more everyday what a little wisdom can do!

I’m not saying that everything he’s done is right. And you know what I’m sure he doesn’t think he perfect and or always right. But again he has been upfront about his have you? Do you know how many more people would come to the church, would get saved if we as Christians would love them as Christ does!?! I can tell you story after story about being treated like an outsider for just having jeans on and I’m IN the church. There is so much more going on outside of TON3X (no disrespect). I will agree with Michael Williams that it is old. He is who he is until he and or God says different.

And as far as this whole Black Gays and Lesbians Cruise is concerned. Why is nobody setting a standard!!! We have people living double styles all in the church and in the gospel industry. And yes we blast them. However we STILL buy their records, go to their concerts and so on! So if him singing at this Cruise bothers you than PRAY/FAST that God would Deliver!!! And he can! I can’t blame other artist for not agreeing to perform. Who knows what God lead them to do. But is no one able to sing the power of deliverance on that boat? Is he going to be hated on for that. Did God tell you if he is in line with the will or not. Process is just that PROCESS! YES, it SHOULD be about saving souls and not record sales. But how many gospel artist won’t go to a smaller church and or city because that can’t pay their asking price? We could go on and on! There are so issues just in our churches alone. We have a mission to be a light to a DYING are we being that light!?! Is someone asking YOU what must I do to be saved. How can I know YOUR God!

So WE have a lot to get in order. Let’s just keep praying that GOD’S will be done in Ton3x’s life!!!

    my, my, my.
as an artist myself i will say this. People write and sing to vent. Some (not all) have a hunger and thrist to be household names. Not only in the believers world as well as the unbelievers world.

the problem some people make is covering up their past. Lieing about their past forgetting with modern technolgy your skeltons will sing and dance if you want them to or not.

A testimony of deliverance is more respected than cover-ups and lies. The world knows that.

White people like to hear people say ‘i’m sorry’ and people of this generation and the generations to come wanna hear you say the truth. If not they’ll spend the rest of your life trying to get a confession out of you. and when you are dead and gone if you don’t confess they’ll wonder why you tried to keep secrets.

you can flip burgers and only 17 of the 17,000 people in your country town no the truth. But when you say “look world I’m over here. I love God and this is my gift, come listen, come dance, and buy” you open yourself up and the least you owe your audience is love. and under the umbrella of love is honesty.

no one wants to go through life cracking nuts with the heel of the boots when they coulda used a nutcracker.

no one with good sence wants to go through life bouncing their head with basketballs when they coulda used their hands.

leaders/pastors have to live a life where people respect them. and in some churchs you can’t even sing in the choir unless you have spoken in tongues.

    world
get ready for more of this. you know the elete that fall away? their falling. just make sure you’re not one of them.

our sins are covered in blood, but our gifts are’nt . we will stand before God and be judged according to how we used those gifts, many will come and say i prayed, i prophsied, i wrote books, i sang songs and God will say depart from me I know you not..

make sure! tripple dipple, check yourself everyday make sure you ask God to renew the RIGHT spirit in you, to clean your heart. EVERYDAY.

    thanks for reading me

notice the more and more we chase money the faster it runs from us? you ever notice that?

There will always be somebody with a nicer house, better care and bigger booty. why lose your soul over it.

Do you remeber how the pastor said ’step down’?

The only thing people ‘must take care of that one day you come before God’s trone. Than you can’t say, this person or that one, did wrong things. The Lord will ask you “What did you do?” and than you have to give account of your things. You can blame no pastor, because it’s you that make the choices and to keep your relationship with the Lord clean, no one else. Thats also for myself. People have to do what the Lord ask them to do and your task may differ from that of another one. If things are of God or not leave it to the Lord. It might be that you may be fight against God. May the Lord Jesus bless you all!

I’ll be honest with you; I had to look up the definition of, ‘mogul,’ in the dictionary since I wasn’t sure exactly what it meant. Is Ton3x refering to himself as a member of the Muslim dynasty (an important person), or a bump on a ski run -or both?

While reading the in-depth interview article that Mandi wrote about him, I eventually had to scroll back up the page to hit the pause button on the tape player. Why? Because I’m skeptical about the type of music I feed my spirit and soul with. As Tonex (Ton3x) revealed his motives for the new music genre, I made a choice to guard my heart , “…with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life.” There are a few other Scriptures that come to mind as I look at this artist:

“The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” When the Lord places a gift inside someone, He doesn’t take it back -ever! That holds true whether we choose to glorify God with it or not. Would God bless and anoint principles and practices that are contrary to His Word?

“Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” Tonex’s heart is obviously filled with the words resonating in this new musical genre of his. What, exactly, will he teach his child that’s on the way into this world?

In closing, I’d like to say that my husband and I bought and used Tonex’s earlier music ministry to spiritually feed both us and our five children. (Our youngest offspring -I dare not say, ‘child,’- is now 21 years old.) They are creative ministry classics that we still enjoy from time to time. I’ll continue to intercede on behalf of Tonex, unless the Lord tells me to stop. I understand that only a few (in comparison to the whole Body) ever commit the unpardonable sin ie blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Since Ton3x is a leader, the Lord will have us pray for him.

1Timothy 2:1-5 sums this subject up for me: “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity - the man Christ Jesus.” (That’s quoted from the NLT Bible version that my 7 year old grandaughter studies God’s Word out of.)

    God bless you…Keep the faith!

I’m not big on religion at all these days. But I am a fan of Ton3x as well as gospel music. Everybody gets so caught up in what this person is doing when, according to your bibles, all have sinned. You probably sin everyday and don’t even realize it, and to God no sins greater than the other. The only difference between any of you and Ton3x is that he doesn’t do his dirt in the dark. He never once said he once said he was right for the whole “naked truth” thing. In fact he apologized for that.
As far as him wanting to get popular and have a lot of sells, there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you remember what your real purpose is. Ton3x constantly acknowledges the Lord in what he does, and says that he does is for him. I think his new album is proof of that. The message in it is very clear. All these different denominations getting caught up in the style of worships, the dos and don’ts, men can do this and women can’t do that, it’s all BS. If you’re all trying to “tell the good news”, and make it to heaven, and you all have the so called “holy ghost”, then you should all have the same vision. I mean..how can you sit and preach jesus love and peace when the church attacks and destroys itself from the inside out? If you wanna win souls, the foolishness needs to stop. We’ve all done dirt, and will do dirt in the future. It’s just human nature. Get over it, and pray for one another. I mean, isn’t that what you teach, love?

Wow, I have no idea why Ton3x responded to all of this, but it’s cool. I have been a big fan of his music and talent through the years. When The Naked Truth dropped, I felt sorry for him because it seemed like there was so much hurt there. Do any of you know what it’s like to be hurt by the church? the leaders of the church? and then for you to struggle with the fallout yourself? It can be difficult.
Yes, we make our own choices and walk into our own sin; however, rebuilding a relationship with Christ after that can be a long journey it seems. You have to forgive yourself first. Whether it’s once saved, always saved or not. If you can’t get over yourself, then there’s no coming back. It is a process. This is not to say I agree with Ton3x performing on a gay cruise or anything like that. I think it raises more questions about him and his ministry than anything else. And I am still confused about whether he is married since there is a baby on the way?
The only thing we can really do for him or anybody in this position is pray. You can try to minister to him all day long, but why bother? You KNOW he knows the Bible backwards and forwards! He knows the Word. All you can do is trust that the truth will lead him to where he needs to be. It appears to me he is working on that, and who hasn’t and doesn’t stumble along the way? No excuses, I know, but no one is perfect. Is he anointed? I would say yes. Is he confused? He might say he’s very clear, but I am not sure about that. Is this a test? Yes, it is, but who knows if he will pass it. And what would “passing” be? By your standards or God’s?
Ton3x, it’s a rough journey back. I know it is. But just keep trucking.
“Everything is permissible for me—but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me—but I will not be mastered by anything.”

Foremost, Ton3x and all those reading this, I want to let you know that I am praying for you (as an artist and leader/pastor). More importantly, I want to let you know that I love you! I love what God is doing through you! Do not reflect on any of these comments left about you, against you, or those who want to spit on you…but know that God loves you! He has tested your heart, made you stronger, and you have become wiser. Your music is inspiring, moving, and brutely honest. Maybe if there was no cussing, would it really make a difference. We all have to make choices, and either get the blessing from them or suffer the consequences….but through it all, we will know Christ. It feels like some of these comments are like the whip-lash hitting the aching body…nailing Christ to the Cross all over again because we are hurting the body of Christ. We are to edify and build one another up, not tear one another down with our powerful tongue (words). Therefore, I want to lift you up Ton3x. God has great works in you, and God is not through with you yet! I have similar struggles as a writer and published author. I know with my first project, some people pointed the finger at me with my sexual content and profanity was bleeped out, but still I dealt with the feedback (both good and bad). I have grown from it. I thank you for your advice, Ton3x of your myspace page.

I have been reading about 19 pages of the interview and the blogs left here. I normally do not like to leave my comments, but I read too many pages not to say something. I am not someone who will probably come back to read what is said after I leave this….but it saddens me how so-called Christians can come on a site and bash a man due to him exploiting himself publicly on interviews or his second-to-latest project “Naked Truth”. Moreover, that is why people (sinners) do not want to become Christians since they see so much fighting, arguing, and blaming or knick-picking in the church when Paul writes we are to pull the plank out of our own eye. In other words, we are to look at our own faults and mistakes before trying to feel good about ourselves at someone else’s shortcomings.

Furthermore, I am not here to condemn or condone Ton3x actions, but his music is inspirational and inspiring to me. Those songs that he used profanity, like Naked Truth, think #19 on the CD moved me the first time I listened to it. I cried like a baby and could feel the pain in his voice. I could also relate to some of the songs, when he said, “damn you…that I hope I will turn out better than my father…” I went through a period where my father left us (divorced my mother when I was 12) and I screamed those words and even though I forgave my father after so many years (adulthood) I still sometimes get flashbacks or feelings that are not like God…and this song brought back some of those distraught memories…and released it! But I cried because I love my dad and want to see my heavenly daddy, but we have to let go the pain we once felt, stop living in the past, and press forward with the grace of God’s help. I could still hate my father and not forgiven him, be in the church all holy-and-thou, and do you think God would be pleased. Well I feel that is what some of us are doing, let’s get pass the past of what Ton3x did and see the beautiful music he created with Bapostogic. I thought I loved out the box, this CD knox out the box!

Not so much because he used bad language in “Naked Truth”, but the words he expressed in his anger…we all get angry sometimes, we all want to vent (which really is gossip since we dont take it to the person alone), and some of us do cuss to express our feelings. I have done it.

I also struggle with what is acceptable when I write since I am an author/poet…especially when you are making your characters believable. However, sometimes we find ourselves doing things of the world (which we are to separate ourselves from the world, and to be the salt and light to others that are lost or do not know God) to be accepted, to entertain (as a writer we have to entertain an audience too, who will more or less buy our work to become a bestseller), and struggle with the man/woman inside of us…flesh vs spirit. I also multifaceted since I write various genres such as science fiction, urban street literature without profanity and ease on my sexual content like most of my competitors do to sell, inspirational non-fiction books (Day Begins with Christ will be out by or before December 2008), poetry, short stories, and so forth.

Moreover, we are to forgive our fellowman or woman, like Peter asked Jesus, how many times do I forgive my brother/sister, and he said 7*70…which means not only seven times but more times over. We all fall short of the glory of God, we all fall down, but the good news is that we can get back up. We go through dark spots in our lives to shine through in someone else’s lives. In other words, we have our lowest times to make us more humble and see God’s love in our lives at work. Once we acknowledge who he is to us, we can demonstrate this love for one another and become the “disciples” (writing a book called Counsel me Lord to be a vessel like Christ) God called us to be through our God-given talents and skills…that is what Ton3x is doing.

We can sympathize, but we cannot feel his past pains by losing a father, divorce, and those in the church dear to him turned their backs on him all in one moment. We all had downfalls and no telling how we will deal with them when it hits us like bricks. We cannot say what we will do! But, Jesus came to save not to condemn when he saw wrong with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and called them ‘hyprocites’. The sad thing, is that they (Pharisees and Sadducees) thought they knew God by be intellectuals in the community, following the religious traditions and rituals since Abraham, but mind you, they did not have God in their hearts. They were blinded by their own pride and self-hate to those that would not abide to their ways of teaching…

To add, those of us should pray for our fellowman or woman (praying in intercession) and trust that God will make Ton3x over for the man God called him to be.

I have met this man in person back in the end of July, his anointing is God-given for sure. His mom is very anointed since you are in her presence, you are crying or filled with the Holy Spirit. I truly love this brother of God.

Mind you, I am not pointing the finger at anyone in particular by naming them out, I am not here to slander another person or gossip per say, since this is what my church has been preaching about and did not know that I am involved by just reading/listening to it. I love you all and pray we are able to forgive and move forward in our walk with Jesus Christ. Pick up the Cross and follow Jesus! Let go of the anger and rationalizing what you believe is right by using or quoting scriptures to justify your thoughts…since sometimes we can misinterpret or misread the scriptures to try to make a illogical statement…may sound good, but is it good. Lets go to the root of the wrongdoing and ask for forgiveness….for our own sins and those who we have sinned against, and pray for Ton3x….remember for God is love (action) and not get emotional detached from the fact that he is growing in Christ…there are many God took as weak vessel to make the nation strong! Ex: Moses! Joseph! and so forth.

  81. Deo says

what is funny as I am reading more of the comments after posting my comment, “we can slander a Christian because he displays his faults publicly, but not those who are living the life in the world?” Even more funny to me, is that God will say to many, “I never knew you.” and will be shocking to see who made it in the heavenly realm…who we thought would be there and will not. Those we least expected or had no hope for, will be the one that did? It is all about our hearts…God sees…which some of our brothers and sisters do not focus on the heart of a man or woman or their love for other souls!

Then, many want to applaud CM for her writing and argumentative spirit to justify the Bible, cool. I know an online magazine I posted my articles on…heavenlymag.com. Editor is Shinise Muse, would love to see what you will bring to the table. But we forget that words can hurt worse sometimes than sticks and stones…and many have said, “cast the first stone who has not sinned”…thought of that too…and moreover, we are liars if we believe that we never sinned. Only one man walked the earth sinless, but Paul encourages us to live a sinless life….can we really live a sinless life especially after reading most of these comments against Ton3x and turning or twisting words around to argue their point. Whoa, I hate to see the things that people will do to me once I ever get in the spotlight since I am very loving and emotional….but praying that God makes me wise and be able to hold up against the remarks/rebuking comments. Moreover, we keep on praying to be in the perfect will of God.

Ton3x is a young man that I knew since october 2002. In the pepsi stage in Amsterdam. Before that time I didn’t knew him. I was a backstage member at that time, so I was able to walk all over the place. Now years before this Gospel R&B evening we went on a youth camp on Terschelling a little isle in the north of the Netherlands. We where in such a close group that the Lord Himself began to work in that group. and it was in that group I received my healing from chronical bronchitis, because the Lord touched one girl from us and her face was pointed to 5 people and I was one of them, she only touched my face and I began to praise the Lord, laugh and cough and fell on the ground and a voice spoke to me, you are healed now from your bronchitus go and tell the other people. While I tought that , my mouth began to speak itself and than I noticed all slime was out of my lungs,
The next day we had our last day meeting, and before we went to a mountain with a little group to praise the Lord there. Some of my friends spoke words and had prophesies not from their own but the Lord spoke trough them, through me also, that there would happen many things in tha last meeting. Now when the meeting began. One of the girls saw the wheels that are written in Ezechiel 1 and 10 and she bagan to screem, another girl was dancing, another one saw demons on young people and she must take them of, because they hug them like babies. For me there came a spiritual cloth like anointing out of heaven and it fell over me and my eyes became heavy and I start prophesieing and was send to several people. The moment I tought it’s from my self, it starts burning and I couldn’t hold it, i put chairs aside to go to the person and touched them from head to toe and began to speak, some things I couldn’t remember, because it was not I that spoke.
Same thing happened when we where in the pepsi stage, but I wasn’t with the group now. It was Ton3x that praised the Lord after his performance and couldn’t stop. The cloth like spirit came over me like before and I felt the Spitit of the Lord all over the place. My mouth began to speak and it lookliked I was drunk or walking on clouds. I heared Ton3x walking up and downstairs because he gave it all in praise and couldn’t find rest at that time, the Lord used him so wonderfully, that the angels of Ezechiel came down and fill the place. If you read the chapters 1 and10 of Ezekiel you know what I mean. If the angels come to visit, than the glory of the Lord that is above them, fill the house with glory. Thats the revelation I got when I red the chapters years after this experience and the Lord revealed me that this happened in both situations. The words that than came out of my mouth where specially for Ton3x. So I know that the Lord has a very special plan with him, and people can’t stop it. They don’t understand it, because he’s cleaver and has a strategy to reach the people who are lost. So people may think and say but the Lord knows better and He’s the best, God bless!

It seems like people confuse ‘crying and speaking in tongues with the annointing.

Deo said “His mom is very anointed since you are in her presence, you are crying or filled with the Holy Spirit. I truly love this brother of God.”

    that’s sad.

the other thing it seems like ‘christians’ don’t understand that gifts come without repentance. God used a donkey to prophesy to Balim. He used a ‘high priest’ to prophesy (unknowingly) to the people that Jesus would die for nations.

and you know what? God will use you , me and person place or thing, that is in or out of order.

let’s not confuse snot, tears and fetal positions withe the anointing. the annointing changes lives. first the person that it operates through.

praise the lord for the committed, Anointed and obdient leaders out there. that have a pastors heart. that are there to serve the people and not their pocket books.

perhaps you should put the pen down until you have a clear understanding of what God wants you to puplish (if anything) .

one thing God taught me early in my walk. is that we all have a specific day to meet the Lord . in other words . we all got a plane to catch. today is not a good day to take a child to the airport and allow him to swing on the poles, play in the water fountain, go in the bathroom and play with the toilet and sinks. especially if you being the mature one, the parent , the ‘anointed ‘ one!!!

these people out her are dieing everyday. it is not time nor will it ever be time for us represent God as leaders/pastors and have not been delivered from sexual impurity, or anything that God considers an abomanation. and I thank God for the saints that stand by this. who refuse to sit under them. as the ole saints used to say “SIT DOWN”
by the way I’m a writer also. put i’m not on here to sell books. i’m here to give an opinion.

oh yea, by the way. My father drove us around some mountains in California and tried to kill us. he was (keyword) an alcholiac. did i write about it? YES. i told how he was forgiven, i told how he was now my best friend. i told how 28 years went by and i had’nt seen him. i told how i still hav’nt seen him , because he’s no longer rich and he does’nt want me to see him living in a mobile home in the same mountains in calif. yet, I STILL LOVE HIM!

when you have been delivered you have a story worth telling. when you have not been delivered it comes out as anger, hatred, sinful, hardened pain.

and that makes the world laugh at us!

the followed Jesus because of the sighns, not because he could sing.

    no pun intended. lol

i just thought about something. if you wanted to be a doctor you would have to go to school (educate yourself)
you would have to pass certain test.
and you would have to work in a clinical setting.
if you wanna press (or perm) someone’s naps and get paid. you have to go to school, you have to press some heads for free.

preaching/pastoring/teaching is the only occupation where you can put on a suit and stand on a street corner, and have people pitch you quaters while you say what ‘thus said the Lord’
you can go home and live your life like the devil. without educating yourself, with out passing any test, without being delivered. if no one speaks up against this stuff you know what will happen. there will be more cogic churchs with pastors molesting the members, there will be more catholic churchs were little boys/girls are being molested. there will be more churchs were homesexuality runs rampant amoungst leaders.

i asked the Lord once why would a person follow a person that leads them into a ditch? and God gave me the answer through a sheep heardsmen. he said he could get a little pueny dog and have the dog control the sheep and the cows. and i asked him why? he said because their stupid. they don’t know that they could step on the dog with one foot and destroy him.

when i was a babe in the Lord. i went to this church. and one of the ministers quit going. he quit going to church because he deceided he wanted to fornicate with this women, who he eventually got pregnant. you know what I did? I went out and got me some. i said this christianity thing is a bunch of whooplaw. it can’t be done. i really don’t know what i was thinking. and i went on a sexual rampage . That’s just an example of how some babe’s think.

so we need strong leaders. and i think anyone who had a true love for the kingdom of God would agree.

I hope if you respond to my comments you don’t mention Tonex. because the kingdom of God and His leaders far exceeds Tonex.

RW, I was not hear to criticize or put down the next person….however, you called me out. I have put the pen down, but I type instead of write per say. I have published works. You apparently have not been in the writing game yet, since we all have weaknesses and strengths and things we struggle with when we are dealing with a scene or developing believable characters. I can go on and on to get my point across, but more so, I did get a revelation from God from His Word what is my purpose for writing and where it will go…therefore, I am confident now. I am doing in His will…we all have a gift and talents, we work a job otherwise we do not eat. It is not about profit, it is about displaying our talents and getting a salary for them. At your job, dont you get paid for your labor? Not much different from writing since it costs money to put it in print. I can tell you are new to the game of writing. There is a difference between saying you will write and being a writer. I met so many of those in my profession that say I write, but their voice is not in print. You have to reposition yourself and take it a step furhter.

As far as you claiming to be a writer, what is up with the typos? Typing is the issue or your spelling? I am out. Check me out on my page. I am done.

Anointing is powerful that can make people do a lot of things whether it is crying, jumping, shouting, and so forth. God be with you and be a blessing to others. I am done. You’ll someday see my gift hit worldwide and hopefully in movies.

i have positioned myself to not correct inconsistancies in people if it does not relate to the Word of God.

so go correct the rest of my typos, then run, hop and skip through the church, but don’t call it the anointing unless when you land your life has been changed. it is time for the body of Christ to have more than a ‘good ole workout’ in the chuch (church for you) and lives need to be changed. lives need to be changed… my life ….your life…lives need to be changed…lives need to be changed….lives need to be changed…

It is time that we write what God wants. Not what people wanna (want to) here (hear).

i thought you were a dude. but being a woman you wanna make sure that you writing is not just another piece of material of wasted circulation of the eyes and something that stirs up the emotions for 15 seconds. LIFE CHANGE… i need a life change , the people need a life change , the world needs a life change.

My greatest concern is if he is truly born-again or not. As I’m reading through the interview, I do not see compassion, joy, love, etc. but rather it seems more like anger & frustration. I was a big supporter of his and followed him since his first album. My prayer is that God has truly saved him, first and foremost, considering that there are false teachers and converts in the body of Christ.

  91. Brooke says
    September 20th, 2008

First of all, I would like to say that the interview was ok. I’m not uber excited but I am interested in the CD. I respect him for going on the cruise because he has the ultimate chance of reaching people where they are. You can’t always expect people to come to you. You gotta go to them. I’m pretty sure that’s displayed throughout the Old and New Testament. I’m not impressed with this inteview in spite of the new information. It seems to be lacking something, but I can’t put my finger on it.

Marvin, based on how and what you’ve typed I’m guessing you’re one of those people who believe that you have to be perfect from the time that you ask Christ to come into your life in order to keep your salvation. That everytime you sin you have to re-ask Christ to come in. If that’s true then you need to listen a bit more closely to the scriptures.

God will use whom ever he wants to to get His work done. Look at Moses, Saul/Paul, and others though out the Bible. In fact, even look at your pastors! Every pastor I know has had some type of background were they were on a hopeless path. They were gangbangers, drug dealers, drunkards, etc yet God is using them anyway! Even look at your ministry leaders. Even if they were born and raised in the church I’m 1000000000% sure that they are not perfect or even anywhere near it! I’m sure they’re still struggling with some sins that would make you blush. It’s just that their laundry isn’t being aired. Do am I siding with the sin? No way! But writing a person off because of the sin s/he commited is crazy! Imagine what life would be like if God did that to us.

If you are willing to let God use you then he can use you. And for those who are puffed up remember, God doesn’t NEED you. Serving Him is a privilege.

  92. Brooke says
    September 20th, 2008

correction:“Every pastor I know has had some type of background were they were on a hopeless path”

I’m not saying that every pastor was like this or should think that being like this is the first step to being a great pastor.

“Tonex, it appears to me that you are deviating from what CM is saying. This is not about winning lost sould c/s you are supposed to be in the kingdom.”

“The majority of those in the gospel industry Kirk Franklin, Karen Clark Sheard, J Moss, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams etc. need to be confronted as well because they are claiming Christ yet being unequally yoked with non-believers, having friendship with the world, and doing many things in the public that is bringing reproach to the name of The Lord.”

Huh? How is it not about winning lost souls? Didn’t God tell us to be fishers of men? We need to reach out and show people who don’t already know that Jesus is the way that He is. What’s the point of showing people who’ve already know have accepted Christ that? I know there’s a verse in the Bible about it but I can’t think of were it is right now. (and it’s going to drive me crazy until I find it again. Lol!)

I’m not sure what you’re talking about with the other musical artists. If it’s divorces you can’t really point any fingers unless you know the reason why the divorce happened. If the married non-Christians the Bible does speak up about that and they probably shouldn’t have done it, BUT I believe that they can influence that person to accept Christ. I’m not saying that you should marry every person you know of the opposite sex just to have a chance at converting them. I interpreted, “having friendships with the world,” as you being perturbed that they were friends with non-Christians. I think I know were you’re going with this; your company may influence you. However it’s not a bad thing to be friends with non-Christians. (I so wish I had my Bible in front of me right now. IMO, I don’t like using the internet for scripture references because it has let me down a few times before) What I’m trying to say here is that you can use that friendship as a platform to tell them about Christ. Sometimes you need to come at someone as friend. They’ll be more receptive to what you have to say. In the words of Michelle Williams, “You have the power to change lives. Change the world don’t let the world change you.”

Sorry that I couldn’t bring up a lot of Biblical references to support my point. I’m not at home and my Bible study stuff is at my house.

“Finally, I want to say this: if you had a relative that you loved who was getting bigger and bigger, eating nothing but fried foods, pork, soda, and cake and there was a serious threat of high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes, what would you do? Would you not tell them to they need to stop or they will die? What if they made excuses, wouldn’t you care too much about their life to not still warn them?”

I understand what you were getting at. I don’t mean to change the subject, but there are some flaws in this logic. Telling an overeater to stop eating is like telling an anorexic who constantly fasts, goes on crazy diets, and sub-exists on water and saltines to eat a real meal. It only puts a Band-Aid on a huge gash. There’s a reason why they are doing what they’re doing. However most people don’t care to get to the root of the problem or they think that what they’re seeing on the surface is the problem. Nopers, it’s a symptom. That is all. :)

  93. Marvin says
    September 30th, 2008

Hello Brooke. I don’t know you or anyone on this board but it appears that many of you have the same problem and that is keeping words in their context so let’s discuss that. What is apparent is that many “Christians” do not read their Bible and when someone speaks the Word then their only defense is to fall back on what they have heard. Examples”don’t judge… let he who is without sin cast the first stone…David sinned, Paul struggled…etc. These people misuse scripture to defend many things that contradict the word and the few scriputes that you run to do not apply. You see, I am not a fan of another man or woman so I will not defend their actions, sin or anything that contradicts the word of GOD and if people would become fans of The Word of GOD, then this foolishness would not persist.
That being said, you and some of the others on this board made reference to my comment “this is not about lost souls c/s you are supposed to be in the kingdom…” Again, you do not know how to keep things in context and have spoken incorrectly. The context of that statement is in this article- Tonex said he is a Pastor, he has “mastered” church lingo, grew up in holiness, 5 genrations deep etc. He knows who Jesus is, he know the Way, yet he is PUBLICLY contradicting the WORD of GOD and when he was rebuked according to the word, he tried to hide behind “Now imagine someone who is not in our faith comes on here and sees how you flip out on me? How does that look ? I mean if I was on the outside looking in I’m not sure I’d wanna be apart of Any religion because of how much hatred prejudice and malice is laced in the undertone of what we call “THE TRUTH”. So again, the context of that statement is simply addressing what he said. My life is dedicated to winning lost souls that discussion is over.
Also, your “guess” in your second paragraph was ridiculous. You should not guess Brooke, either operate in discernment or ask. Ask me if I believe that one has to be perfect before they accept Jesus. If you ask me that I would say absolutely not because that is impossible. First- John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.
Second- Phillipians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Finally John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Our being coming to GOD has nothing to do with perfection. Our salvation is because HE made a decision about us and gave us the the will and the action to respond to him. Once we respond, out of that Born Again relationship, we strive to be perfect and fulfill the desires of our Savior.
My final point, (I know this is long) is when I spoke of the other gospel artists (and I only named a few) again if you don’t know don’t assume. James 4:4 …know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. If you understand scripture you’ll know the difference between having friends who are not saved (which I certainly do) and being friends with the world. Once you understand that, you’ll know why those artists were called out. Don’t make it as though Tonex is “putting in work for the kingdom.” He said he is going to catch some record sales and they are just like any other consumer. His intent is made clear and for him to say that he is numbered amongst GOD’s people yet outwardly and deliberately contradict GOD’s word is unacceptable I don’t care how he or any of his fans feel.
So I’ve typed a lot Brooke, I hope I was not condescending c/s I have a tendency to be, but I highly suggest you increase your understading of reading in context. GOD never called us “Christians” that is a man-made word however The Lord did call us to holiness MANY times. After all, he did say without holiness, we shall not see his face. Let’s mature, there is more to GOD than just His grace, we should be walking in the power of GOD and putting away these childish things.

  94. Marvin says
    September 30th, 2008

One more thing Brooke, though I was not speaking on anyone’s private life, the Bible does speak about marrying someone who is not your a believer-2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?
And yes EVERYTIME you sin you do need to ask GOD to forgive you, and if you have a relationship you will certainly ask him. We never want to grieve the Holy Spirit so like in any relationship, if we do wrong, we apoligize and try to never do it again.

Many people give comment about Ton3x. His ministry is that he get so many people as possible saved from the hell they are going in if they don’t hear the redemption in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is not ashamed to tell them. The only way to reach them is to come as a friend for them, otherwise they don’t accept the message. Sometimes I don’t understand his way of reaching the lost eather, but it’s neccessary that there are people like him that go deep in to the world and pull out precious people that otherwise wouldn’t reached. The only danger is that by reaching those, you must be strong in the Lord, not to become worldly or save people and damage your soul. I pray that he will be strong enough and that the Lord give him more wisdom, People don’t understand, but the Lord will, that’s why every person must have a personal relationship with the Lord and not look at what others are doing, because than you lose the focus of your own task for the Lord, God bless you all!

2-So much justification. And there’s enough vocabulary and theology to take away from the main issue…which is “are you heaven bound?” “Do you know Jesus…or do u just name drop??” And that’s not a condemnation…it’s a sound question that I ask myself

Tonex represents every so-called, “I am keeping it real while I sin, so called “anointed”, don’t judge me, I am trying to reach people, no bible studying, “everybody sins don’t they” Christian. The fact is that he and others like him aren’t Christians at all. I know that statement will ruffle many feathers, but it is the truth. IF you are Saved, if you are a follower of Christ bottom line your life should exemplify Christ in pain, sorrow, anger, joy, rich, poor or whatever.Just Christ.

I don’t listen to Ton3x songs. Never heard of him until I read an article in ChristianMusictoday.com & was curious to hear what his music was about. But from reading this blog, I can say that this guy is not saved. “…walk in love, as Christ also has loved us…. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret…. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:2-17? Remember, that the Lord said some will come and say Lord, Lord & He will say… away from me I never new you…. (paraphrasing). It sounds like he never changed as scripturse says - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (New International Version)
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Some of you are on the money & some are totally lost & need to study the word more…. to the woman who was caught in adultery, Jesus said — 11……… “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” He told her to leave her life of sin. So, we can’t be blatently sining & think we’re winning souls. You’re fooling yourself & others. Remember that in the last days there will be false prophets. Be careful out there.

p.s. I just wanted to add … many people go to church, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re saved/have a relationship with God (very important)….. even the devil knows God… does that mean that he’s going to heaven?
REMEMBER; 1 Timothy 4:16 (New International Version)
16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

People don’t take offense of what TRUTH is, but go back & search your BIBLE & learn & stand for TRUTH not flesh.

FEED THE SPIRIT…. More of CHRIST; less of me. I can’t imagine Christ reaching people with curse words…… FATHER LET IT BE YOUR WILL, not mine.

I was a christian all of my life until a few months ago when I found facts. The only reason that there are so many responses on this article is because of religion. Without religion, this argument would be pointless. True peace is “NO RELIGION”. Faith is not a fact.

I love Ton3x and his music. The things YOU gentiles(as jews call all non-jews, which is racist) are talking about never enters my thought process. I have felt stress-free ever since my exit from religion.

    Know religion, no peace.

    …. and one more thing…
I play bass in church every Sunday and get a LARGE check and will continue until the eventual demise of religions. I study gospel music heavily. I love the music…. the words lack substance.

Hey Yuppers, what facts are you speaking of? Its unfortunate that its not discerned that your just there for the money, but all of that will be taken care of, whether you believe in judgement or not, you judge the Christians in the faith and say its religion that does these things, when its man who falls short of His glory, and then end up making wrong judgments, whereas you feel that God doesn’t have the right to judge in the end but He will

Also, since none of us are perfect because how can we have true and everasting peace when we are as the wind who will soon pass away, and we are imperfect, thus not being able to live in perfect peace when everything around you is surrounded in imperfection and death? Just because something is complicated, that being the lives we live, you cannot offer such simplistic solutions, when even you do not know how to work these things our, wheras God will work out the good for those who love Him, and His purposes will stand.

I pray that your trust will once again be in the Truth of Jesus Christ, and not in the lies of man saturated in darkness. You can love Ton3x and his music, for you have that right, but just know that his trust is in the true God and he has rejected what you now claim, and every knee shall bow and tongue confess Jesus is King

Why is the exact people God is using to help win souls being called contrary towards Him?
It seems like some of you would say that God isn’t posed to use horrid people (ha and the folks stated aint even that!).
I always thought them to be the exact ones to use!
Imagine if Howard Stren started praising God.
Instead of praying on that a lot of you would bash him and call him fake and tell people to have no sight of it.
Remember the saying “God works in mysterious ways”?
    Well fam He really does.
You don’t know who God’s working on.
Were all sinners and we need to hope that He’s working on us.
When I try and tell people about God they all say the same thing, “You people do nothing but judge. I don’t want to be a part of something that hurts people.”
I thought about it and my mind filpped.
I was like ‘What in the world?!”
It did not come to mind where they could have gotten that outlook on Christians.
But NOW I come to this page and see that it is indeed out there.
And now I’m trying to think how can I show them that THIS isn’t right and that it certainly isn’t the way I am.
    God is love right?
    Why aren’t yawl though?
Aren’t we posed to be like God?
I’m young I know, some would want to say “Your a child, you can’t tell me much.”
I heard Jesus, Jesus, Jesus when I was in the womb.
    Scriptures were sung to me.
My family made sure I knew God before I could say His name!
    Your love should be UNCONDITIONAL.
I have never seen such nastisness from a group of people that I’m posed to be spirtually related to.
I can’t even connect with some of yawl!
    That’s how bad it is!
If I can get a gay man to say “I want to change. tell me bout Jesus” by singing on a ship He was on I did an awful thing didn’t I?
Jeez I’ll never get to heaven now because I performed at that strip club last night, God doesn’t love me anymore because I befriend and love thevies and alcoholics.
    =/
    Get real.
    Perfect isn’t for us.
Were not even allowed to be perfect.
    That’s God’s job.
But yes we should TRY to be.
God knows what we go thru on a daily basis though.
Temptations come everyday, am I the devil after I give in to one, ask for forgiveness and repent from it?
If your visions that off I plead with you to ask God for some glasses.
It’s all an inside thing though, for me it doesn’t matter what you say, I know who I love and I know about God.
Lots of people fall from Him and it is possible to fall out of your salvation.
Thing is that all who let God in their heart never truly forgets Him so He was still there.
I got saved when I was 7 years old, young but I had to do it again.
Sometimes a hearts door needs another knock.
Sometimes people do push God out and it is possible to get Him back in.
Music, preach tapes, gospel magazines were just gifts.
Those aren’t posed to lead you anyways!
But if it helps some folks get to the point where they want God and realize that they need God, what bad was done?
God gave Ton3x the gift for a purpose.
And He’s using it for the RIGHT one.
If you can sing you to would slip up and sing “Yes all night long we @#%^$^”
That doesn’t mean your satan though!
I’m not being mislead by Ton3x.
The presence I feel in my room while I’m praising while listening to his worship tracks is real.
Youth picks up Ton3x albums because it is finally something we can play and still have God ringing in our ears instead of Rick Ross.
I listen to Ton3x everyday and I have never fornicated, stopped stealing from my family, never did drugs, I’m honest and I became a full blown philanthropist.
U tell me is that the characteristics of the mislead?
If everyone would keep their nose on their face we’d all be alright.
The fact that someone is public about the bad they do and then still public when they leave the bad and change is inspring.
How could we praise God for the celebrities that become kingdom kids if we didn’t see the life they had before?
Remember what happend to Brian Welch?
We all danced about it because we saw what was going down before.
Sure you could go by their blog…but it’s so enlightening to know and see what went on to see the now and what that’s happening.
We all should be excited that Ton3x went from “I got yo faggot, I got yo @^@^@$^” to “I just want to testify that Jesus changed my life”
If someones pleading for love and we as Chrisitans should be full of it, why not give that love?
Ton3x admitted and confessed, that’s something we all need to do.
Kissing a man and cutting your offering down is equal sin.
Getting caught up in the world is easy and yeah we should fight but if don’t and have to run back to God we shouldn’t get scrutnized for it.
Sin is bad, but no matter what I do nothing’s going to change the fact that I believe God is real and that He sent His Son down to die for my sins.

    Once saved, always saved?

Not the way it goes for all people yo.

You forgot the Mutation In A Twinkle thing we’ll all go through?

No judging. If he is for God’s glory then go bro but if not I still cant say anything bcuz got a few probs myself. He repen Christ I gotta pray for the brother regardless. Either way we need to focus more on the lost and not saving saved people

I ask that everyone look at the sermon Tye Tribbett gave on his Standout DVD. In short, keeping it real doesn’t mean that you can say anything you want. Your feelings are not the boss! Now, everyone sins and no one is perfect. But as someone with a huge spotlight, you have to be extra careful….once you become saved, you are dead to sin….it’s not judging. We must acknowledge his wrongs because they influence many people. For every one person I can reach, he can reach 50 more…..it’s not hating, it is what it is…..
